Client Q & A

Question: I’m in car sales and as you know the market has been down for quite a while. I just changed dealerships and also the brand I’m working for and I’m worried I might get fired before I get my new pitch down. Any quick tips I can implement?

Thanks,
Bill

Answer: Bill, I haven’t ever sold cars, but I’ve sold about every kind of real estate and timeshare in many places over 25 years. There’s always that start time in a new place. The biggest tip I can give you is the one that helped me to frequently sell the very first person at a new place.

#1. Go into the new job with the affirmation, vision, belief and conviction that you will sell the first person you talk to. That you will have exactly what they are looking for and you are the perfect person to help them.

#2. Prepare to make #1 a reality. If possible, before you start work go in and get the lay of the land. Decide what your general presentation is going to be and what the benefits of each model are that you will be selling. Create and start practicing your presentation in advance.

#3. This may sound crazy or it may sound simple, but I believe the biggest key to selling quickly at a new place is to record your new presentation and listen to it every chance you get-over and over until you know it by heart and the words will flow naturally for you.

Personally, I did these 3 steps every time I moved to a new place, and I moved a lot! I moved to different states on average of every 2-3 years. This works like a charm. I recorded my presentation and listened to it with a pillow speaker while I slept. I listened while I was getting ready for work and while driving to work. I listened on the way home to see if I could hear any differences between the presentation I gave and the one I recorded.

This made me a lot of money for not a lot of work and it could do the same for you.
