| Question: Almost all  of the people I pursued for my networking business are avoiding me. I am  deathly afraid of having absolutely every one avoiding me…I’ve  studied the objections stuff …but could use some help in this area.Thanks, Sharon Answer: In the more than 30 years that I’ve been teaching and mentoring salespeople I can tell you that the objections we get are always our own-even if they are deeply subconscious. And a universal truth is that you will create what you focus your thoughts on so what you fear will be what you manifest. Most of the issues that people have with sales and communication, really everywhere in their lives are psychological-your beliefs. So look at what you said here: I am deathly afraid of having absolutely every one avoiding me. And now you are manifesting it. So you’ll want to reframe that belief to shift it. For example: I also have a network marketing business and I rarely have that happen because I don’t have that belief. When someone avoids me I think it’s kind of funny. I see that it’s about their thoughts and is not personal about their feelings for me or the company or products they really didn’t have an open mind to look at. When you think about it, it’s kind of ridiculous that the thought of a distribution method of a business could strike such fear in people that their only response is to avoid a friend. I know that it’s only a matter of time and our regular communication will make them feel comfortable that I haven’t turned into an MLM bogey man. So I give those people time and return to our normal relationship before mentioning it again. And yes I’ve had people join my team that avoided me for a while. I think as you go through the Getting to Yes program and listen to those audios a couple times and then work through the workbook, you’ll start to see where you’re blocking yourself. And as you start to recognize the different personalities and learn how to speak to each in the way they best take in information and also the criteria they need to make a decision, you’ll get better responses from people because they will feel understood and listened to. |
