How Tony Robbins Saved My Life

Tony Robbins

Tony Robbins saved my life.

Ok, I know Tony Robbins is responsible for saving many people’s lives, but in particular, I’m grateful that he saved mine. I’m not exaggerating when I say that I probably would have been dead if I hadn’t found Tony’s program.

If you’ve read my book, “Breakthrough to Success; 19 Keys to Mastering Every Area of Your Life”, you know that I was in an abusive relationship for 10 years. Tony Robbins first book and his original Personal Power 30 day program when it was launched by Nightingale-Conant saved me.

Yes, I had been reading self-help books for over 15 years by then and I’d been I faithful Nightingale-Conant customer for more than 10 years. But everything took a very synchronistic turn when that course came out. I’m getting a little emotional just thinking about it.

It was such a pivotal point in my life, I can see it and feel it just like I was standing in my kitchen when I got the call. It was dinner time when I answered the phone in my home in Palm Desert. I could immediately tell it was a sales call, but as soon as I heard it was Nightingale-Conant calling I was taken a little off guard.

Why were they calling me about Tony Robbins Personal Power?

In 10 years they’d never called to offer me a product before. I was in such a bad place in my life, I was buying tape programs on a more regular basis than usual, looking for more answers. I remembered seeing this one on a flyer I got in the mail and then in the catalog. I was planning on getting it next. I just hadn’t gotten around to ordering it yet.

The person on the phone said they had a special deal for me and I could order the Tony Robbins program right then over the phone. I thought, “Wow, this is so weird, I must be in worse shape than I thought if God is havingĀ  them call me to make sure I get this program.” I know that sounds strange. It sounds funny to me thinking back, but I knew it was divine intervention, even though it was a sales person and not God on the other end of the phone. It was more expense than most of the programs, but I got out my credit card.

When I first started doing the program I was looking for a way to make my abusive relationship work. Maybe I could change or I could change him. I didn’t know which, but I was open to either. As the days of the program went on I could tell that it wasn’t possible for me to change him and it probably wasn’t a good idea to even try to stay in the relationship. I could only work on me.

I did all the work, every day. I started to set my plan in motion to get a job and escape. He had completely cut me off from having control of my own money and now even having a job. It wasn’t going to be easy, it was going to have to be a strategic strike. I built up my inner strength and I put my plan into action, waiting for the right moment to execute it.

Tony Robbins book was the final straw.

One day while in a hotel in Newport Beach reading the first Tony Robbins book, I put down the book, picked up the phone and called a friend and said, “I’m ready, let’s do this.” I don’t remember exactly what Tony said that gave me that final piece of courage to do it, but I’ll never forget how I felt putting the receiver down, knowing that it was done.

There’s no doubt in my mind that the phone call from Nightingale-Conant telling I needed to get this program was a life saver. I don’t know what my life would be if I wasn’t a life-long learner and if they didn’t put out such amazing programs.

I can’t say it was easy getting out of a physically, psychologically and verbally abusive relationship. But I couldn’t have done it without the shift in what I believed I was capable of and who I learned I was from doing the work in Tony Robbins Personal Power program. I will be eternally grateful for the work Tony Robbins does and the programs he’s created.

Today, the work I do is greatly influenced by how I’ve seen Tony work and what he gives to his clients. Many of my friends are now personal friends with Tony Robbins, so I’m sure I’ll have a chance to tell him in person at some point how grateful I am for who he is and what he does.

Have you been able to tell the people who have helped you how grateful you are?
