Question: I wrote my first book and I’m getting booked to speak a lot. I’m very grateful for that, but I’m getting a little tired of all the travel and my family is not as happy with my success as they were a few months ago. I think my topic needs me to teach it, so I don’t know how to transition into less time not he road without a reduction of income. How can I grow my business and not be on the treadmill of being gone all the time?
Answer: There are a couple things. If your topic does need to be taught, can you hire people to deliver the training or license your teachings to someone who would be happy to do the travel instead of you.
I have a feeling, from the fact that you were able to put it in book form, that there are most likely multiple products that could come out of your book. And I’m not talking about just taking the content of your book and turning it into a home study course. I’m talking about creating complimentary products that flow from the core content you teach.
For most people, figuring out what those products are and how to create them takes someone from the outside with a clear vision of your content, what you want to create with your business and how you would like your business to work for you. That’s what I do. The first place I would send you is to http://AuthorExpertMedia.com Download the free report. It will give you 20 steps you can take to market your book without leaving home. Then if you’d like my help, let’s talk.
