Question: I’m thinking of starting a blog to promote the products I’m an affiliate for. I have a passion for a couple topics that fit, so I don’t know which one to go with or if I should choose a broad topic that covers everything. Also, can I just do a free blog or should I get my own domain?

Answer: If it’s business I think you would be better off getting your own domain and hosting, less than $10 from Host Gator and putting up your own Word Press blog. I think the Socrates Theme is so easy even I put up a site when my web guy wasn’t available over the weekend. As far as topic, pick the niche you’re most passionate about and start there. Then you can add other blogs when the time is right. Niches is always better than general, it’s more specific to the product you’re promoting.
