Client Q & A

Question: Thank you for last week’s information of the fastest and least expensive ways to get small runs of a book done. Wonderful info! I’m getting ready to self publish. With this info, I can start planning my book’s release.

Also, I really like the look of your ezine. How can I get one created? And, do you use Constant Contact or some other provider?

Thanks so much,

Erica

Answer: I had my web guy do my template and I do my ezine in InfusionSoft.

I would suggest always looking on Craigslist or elance for things you need done. You’re welcome to copy my ezine template. Just include a copy of my ezine and the adjustments, color changes, category changes you would like and get an estimate. You should easily be able to get your template done for less than $50.

I would suggest aWeber over Constant Contact if you’re just getting started. In my opinion, aWeber will serve you better as you grow. They have lots of templates already there or you can import your own.

Have you grabbed a copy of my report on http://AuthorExpertMedia.com? There’s 20 different things you can do to market your book and some of those you want to take into consideration before the book is published.

For those who didn’t see the recommendations last week, here they are again.

Yes, there are lots of self publishing options where you can get small runs done quickly and inexpensively.

Price per book depends on how many pages and how quickly you need it.  For example, I did a book for a group I was working with and I needed it fast. I paid almost as much to expedite the whole process and I did to print the books. As an example, that book was 120 pages & cost a little over $2 each for a small run.

These 2 are the most popular and easiest to use:

http://www.createspace.com/ If you do this one, your book will only be in Amazon with their ISBN

If you use http://www.lightningsource.com/ you get your own ISBN and it can go into any outlet.

Go to http://ISBN.org to get your ISBN # & then go to http://CreateBarCodes.com to get your bar code for it. You’ll need that for the back cover design.

For editing and design, I don’t have a particular person to recommend. I have had authors get a 96-120 page book light edit, interior layout and basic cover design for around $500.

I would look on Craigslist or Elance.com. There are plenty of people who need work. Always say “it’s a simple job and won’t take long at all for an experienced person to complete.” You’ll get a lower price that way and a quicker turn around.
