Question: I need to create a REALISTIC time line for my product.  I’ve about 50% finished.  I’m great at setting goals, but not having time frames around them.  I’m concerned it might take me 2 or 3 times as long as I thought to actually finish.
Thanks –
Daniel
Answer: Sounds like maybe you don’t like being put in a box, so try this.
The easiest and loosest way to set realistic time frames is to look back at the time it took you to get the first half done and just ballpark it. Then you can get really focused by decreasing the time. It may sound evil, depending on how your personality reacts to deadlines, but you can convince yourself it can be done int he shorter time frame.
