| Question: I’m at a crossroads. I really feel like I need to make a change but I’m going back and forth. Part of me really wants to join a mentoring group and connect with a great mentor and like minded people, while other parts have been screaming all the reasons why it’s not right ( I’m not sure what my passion is, I’m not ready yet, the timing’s wrong, I can’t afford it, I really don’t have what it takes)I think I just have to take a leap and trust that the positives will get stronger as I work through the steps. I had no idea of the extent of my fears, doubts and lack of confidence, and it’s been a huge wake up call about where I’m actually starting from.I’m excited about participating, but I realize I have huge obstacles to overcome and I don’t know if I can develop the necessary self-esteem to have the kind of attitude required for success.
Appreciate your thoughts, Answer: You’re on the right track Jane and you’ve already figured out a lot of the answers by asking the question. Asking yourself better questions than you have in the past is a big key to creating a better future. Taking a leap of faith will change things for you. It’s the first step towards creating the life you choose to have. You must do something different to get a different result. If you don’t know Brendon, I would highly recommend you read his book, “Life’s Golden Ticket”. I was blown away by it and immediately had to meet the author. What a huge talent to be able to write a book like that in his mid-twenties. Brendon broke onto the speaking scene in 2007 at my Women’s Business Empowerment Summit and I feel like a proud mama seeing how fast he has gone and how far. He’s become quite a star! I’m not surprised by any of it because I predicted it the first night we had dinner. I remember how big his eyes got when I told him what I saw for him in his future and it’s all come true. He stepped into his future with both feet and now he travels all over the world speaking on the biggest stages with the Dali Lama, Sir Richard Branson & Tony Robbins. So let me ask you a question? Sabotage is what the majority of people do when they recognize the potential they have and they can’t see how to get there. It’s just too big, but that’s what mentors are for. Do you have one? Life happens, be ready for it. Set your goals high enough that they require you to stretch your comfort zone and you’ll be amazed what you can achieve.
