Question: I’m writing a book and I’ve been doing radio interviews on the topic before the book is written. If I want to use some of the things I talked about on those shows in my book do I have to get permission from the radio host?

Answer: Most radio hosts would be happy for you to link to their radio show or post it on your site. Also, most hosts are just as happy to have you get the interview transcribed and use it. I would offer to give them a copy of the transcript. Ask to make sure.
As for your answers to their questions, that’s your content to use any way you want. Your words, your thoughts can be used as content for your book, articles, blog posts, etc.
My radio show is available for download so any of my guests can edit that audio and use chunks of it on their site or any way they would like. Blog Talk Radio now has a service that will transcribe the calls for you if you’d like to buy a copy of a call.
If you don’t script your interviews you may find some of your best work flows in those interviews so you absolutely want to review them and see what you can use.
Interviews make great bonuses for you book once you’re ready to market it too!
