Haiti VitaMeal Donation Update
February 13, 2010
***See bottom of this post for the direct link to donate without being in the company***
I received this great news of what your donations, as one of my subscribers, have helped to accomplish. It comes directly from the company I work with on this VitaMeal program, so I’m posting their message to me here for you:
Following the devastating earthquake in Haiti, the Nu Skin family has demonstrated its force for good culture with an outpouring of support for those affected by the tragedy. On behalf of Nu Skin Enterprises, we want to thank our distributors and employees for their generous donations of VitaMeal and monetary contributions to the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation. To date, the company and its distributors are donating more than $1 million in cash and product to the Haiti relief efforts.

Our charity partner, Feed the Children (FTC) has been working through their network to get VitaMeal to those in need as quickly as possible. In fact, the more than 150,000 meals that were at the FTC medical clinic were pulled from the damaged building and have already been distributed to those in need. Another 180,000 meals will arrive in Haiti this week and will be distributed from six locations to earthquake victims. Over 200,000 additional meals are being delivered each week to FTC for delivery to projects in Haiti where they are feeding about 15,000 people every day. We are pleased that Nu Skin’s Greater China region, an area that has also suffered from the devastation of an earthquake, has also earmarked all of its January VitaMeal purchases, along with an additional corporate donation of product, to the relief efforts.
Because of your generous donations we expect to provide more than 1.5 million meals for Haiti by the end of February. And we will continue to send monthly shipments of VitaMeal to this earthquake ravaged country on an ongoing basis. VitaMeal was in Haiti before the earthquake and VitaMeal will be there for the long term.
For more information on the Nourish the Children initiative or to purchase and donate a bag of VitaMeal (30 meals; US$22) please visit http://budurl.com/VitaMeal . We appreciate the generous donations of our distributor force to meet the disaster relief needs in Haiti which are above and beyond our ongoing VitaMeal distribution projects around the world including in China, the Philippines and Malawi.
I am happy to answer any question you have about this program or help you make a donation of 1 bag or 100 bags. It’s up to you. You can also pass this information along to help spread the word. We have a matching program in place that starts with an extra bag for every 5 bag donation and goes from there. So every little bit helps.
Thank you for caring!
And thanks to Steve Pohlit for posting on his blog! http://manifestmastermindblog.com/2010/02/new-version-we-are-the-world-to-help-haiti/
***FYI: Use this link http://budurl.com/VitaMeal to donate directly. There isn’t a link on the NTC site that will work for you because you need to fill in a sponsorship number. http://NourishTheChildren.com has information on the complete worldwide program and is not specific to Haiti. You will need to create a customer account and it does not commit you to anything but this one-time donation. If you are interested in donating on a monthly basis, please contact me using the “contact us” form on this site.***

| I DVR’d both of this week’s American Idol episodes to watch this weekend because I was out with friends both nights. I love that show, in fact I don’t think I’ve ever missed an episode. I’m also a fan of Ellen so I’m hoping she’s a good addition to the mix. Comment on my blog and tell me what you think.
There’s just something so inspiring about watching people go for their dreams! It’s also a great psychology course on how to deal with rejection and use constructive criticism. You have an opportunity to watch people either grow and change and possibly become a star, or not grow and be stuck in their vision and go home. In fact, it inspired today’s article about how to grow into your destiny. I’m posting the videos that go with today’s article on my blog so you can watch them there and comment. Update on Haiti DonationsThis beautifully done music video was created by UK artists to raise money for Haiti and it’s sad and yet hopeful in the images it shows of what’s really going on there. Please watch it and donate again if you can. If you’d like to donate food directly to the children, keep reading this update. The update I got on Saturday confirms that we have fed 300,000 children so far and by the end of the month expect to feed VitaMeals to 1,500,000 children in Haiti. Each bag of VitaMeal feeds a child for a month and it’s only $22!
Thank you for your donations and it’s not too late for you to contribute if you haven’t already. When you go to the site, you will need to create a customer account but it doesn’t obligate you to any further donation. On the other hand, if you’d like to make this part of your monthly contributions, contact me and I’ll get it set up for you. Here’s a direct link to donate It’s great when you have a distribution channel and food already in place when a tragedy like this happens, as we did in Haiti, so our food was already getting to those who need it. But the need for food will be ongoing while they rebuild so if you would like to get set up to donate food on a monthly basis, contact me personally and I’ll help you to do that. It’s great appreciated. Life happens, be ready for it. Set your goals high enough that they require you to stretch your comfort zone and you’ll be amazed what you can achieve. How to Grow Into Your Destiny
February 11, 2010
Destiny is a pretty big word, and one that scares a most people into shrinking back from even exploring what your destiny is. You can stay in that stuck place for a short time or your entire life and die with your destiny unexplored and certainly unrealized.
But look for a minute at the upside of what can happen when you acknowledge your fear, take a deep breath and take that next step anyway.
Let’s take 48 year old over night sensation, Susan Boyle for example. Susan is a great case in point for growing into your destiny. We all have catalysts that occur in our lives allowing us a brief door to walk through to something much larger.
The question is, will you recognize the opportunity and will you be brave enough to walk through it. Susan Boyle said yes to herself this time and look where it’s taken her.
On January 21, 2009 she stepped on the stage for her audition on Britain’s Got Talent. I think we all know the rest of that story.
When I blogged about seeing her video on April 16th, it had gone from 9 million views the day before to 13 million. Today with the top 2 version of the video totaling about 120 million views, Susan Boyle’s performance was Youtube’s most watched video of 2009. (Here’s the page to watch the video since they’ve disabled embedding.)
Fast forward a year and on January 19, 2010, Susan Boyle has sold 8,000,000 copies of her debut CD in just 6 weeks and has been #1 on Billboard the entire time. I believe I also heard it made her the biggest selling female artist ever.
Look where that one decision to go for an audition has taken her.
Are you brave enough to grow into your destiny?
What is it going to take for you to create a blueprint for your life?
When will you ask yourself the important questions that will begin the conversation you must have with yourself?
We all have a passion, a life purpose, a reason for being here. When you discover what to that is specifically for you, you will re-connect with your source. Your life will be in alignment and things will flow much more easily.
And your financial situation will flow as well because you are in alignment. Buying into the belief that you can’t make money doing what you love is a huge lie that is costing you your life’s work.
When you are living on purpose, everything fits, it just works. You’ll feel like there’s more time in the day, more energy in your body, more passion in your voice, more love in your life.
Isn’t that what you want? Of course it is, so what is holding you back from going for your dream?
This is just the beginning of the story for Susan Boyle. She’s only one year into this journey of growing into her destiny. Even so, it must be obvious to you that this is a perfect example of what being in alignment looks like. What has happened for her couldn’t happen if she wasn’t following her path.
What would your life look like a year from now if you decide today that you are going to make growing into your destiny your top priority this year?
I’m encouraging you to post your vision for your destiny on my blog and declare yourself publicly because thinking about it or just visualizing it is not enough. You need to declare it to the Universe and put yourself on the line.
A study at Brigham Young University show that the more fully you steps into your goal, the bigger chance you have of achieving it.
Here’s the commitment levels and your chance of achieving it:
That’s a good idea 10%
I’m going to do it 25%
Setting a specific date 40%
Having a specific plan 50%
Telling someone else 60%
Set a specific time to share with someone 95%
So you pick what you’d like your chances of success to be and act accordingly.
Until next week, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Just comment on this post on my blog at http://www.LynnPierce.com

I know February just started but the birds are singing in the morning like it’s spring and the petunias and snapdragons that made it through the winter are starting to bloom again in the big pots at the end of the water feature on my pool. Brendon also mentioned the first Empowered Women’s Business Summit he spoke at for me back in 2007, so I thought it would be fun to show you a picture from the event. Update on Haiti Donations - Please Continue Your Support
January 22, 2010
Thank you to all of you who have already donated to this program and please
continue to foward this information to other who care.
There are many options for donating and tonight is the telethon George Clooney is doing which you can see on several TV networks so your options are increasing.
This is a program that I’m personally involved with. I know the work they do.
They have delivered over 169,000,000 (yes that’s million) meals over the years to starving children and they already have distributed several thousand meals in Haiti since the earthquake.
Each bag of Vita-Meal you donate feeds a child for 30 days, nutritionally balanced food.
Overhead is taken care of, distribution is taken care of, so your donation is bags of food that are going directly to Haiti.
Here’s a direct link to donate http://budurl.com/zuay

Update on Feeding Children in Haiti
January 20, 2010
If you haven’t donated from the email/post I sent last night, here’s the link again. http://lynnpierce.millionsofmeals.com/

Here’s a quick update I just received about Nourish the Children:
I am writing to update and thank you for all of the generous support that you have provided in our Haitian relief efforts over the past week. As you are aware, all Nourish the Children donations in January are being directed exclusively to Haiti. There is no doubt that the situation is desperate, but thanks to your generosity we are making a difference.
You will be pleased to know that we actually had 5,000 bags of VitaMeal in Haiti already when the earthquake hit. The building that the meals were stored in sustained significant damage, but thanks to the efforts of our partners at Feed the Children and the local mayor; we were able to retrieve all 5,000 bags for immediate use. We have also redirected 6,000 additional bags that were in route elsewhere that will be arriving in Haiti very soon.
At our meeting in Anaheim last week we received over $10,000 in donations to our Force for Good Foundation–100% of which will be directed to Haiti relief. These funds will be matched by the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation and will be added to the growing value of the Force for Good Foundation earthquake relief, currently in excess of $65,000.
http://lynnpierce.millionsofmeals.com/
I invite you to get involved in the relief effort by making a VitaMeal donation through Nourish the Children. Remember that we will continue to match any contribution made through the end of January.
Thank you again for your tremendous generosity to date. If you have not donated yet I hope you will consider donating to this worthwhile cause. The people of Haiti now need our assistance more than ever.
If you have any questions about the website and how to donate, I took you through it in last night’s email/post. I really hope you’ll consider helping.

How do you like my new format? If you get my ezine, you’ll notice it’s now in HTML. If you read it here, I’ll be using this formatting from now on, so more photos and possibly videos. The only thing I can’t get to work is no matter what color I change the text in the orange sub-heads, it doesn’t show up as the right color. I’ll have to get my web guy to check that out. But I think I did pretty good for posting this myself before my ezine goes out in the morning. Gotta love automation!
I’ve tested it and it sent to me fine, so if everything goes according to plan, it will have everything in all the right places when you see this too! I stopped doing an HTML ezine back in 2007 when I switched companies and their text editor kept doing strange formatting things when it sent. As you read this I’m on my way to Anaheim for a meeting with my other business. I believe everyone needs multiple streams of income and I’m loving the network marketing stream of income I’ve built. Do you have one that’s giving you the kind of residual income you’d like to have? I have to say that with all the major business and personal growth gurus who have been touting the advantages of network marketing for so many years, I’m surprised when I talk to someone in the information marketing industry who’s mind is still in the dark ages on this revenue stream. As many of you in Internet marketing and the speaking profession can attest, 2009 proved to many people that having all your eggs in 1 basket is a little short sighted. Yes, there were a few that had their best year ever, and for most, learning how to diversify their sources of income played a part. Life happens, be ready for it. Set your goals high enough that they require you to stretch your comfort zone and you’ll be amazed what you can achieve. It’s the Little Things That Make a Difference
January 13, 2010
Have you ever heard that saying before? Today I was reminded how easy it is to be happy when you value the little things in life. It takes more awareness and an attitude of gratitude to recognize the little things. I have to say that as much as I love the big things that I’m able to have in my life, I get as much or more pleasure from the little things.

- Image by termie via Flickr
Long after I forget birthday and anniversary celebrations and long vacations at great resorts, I’ll still remember things like these:
- When my ex-husband and I lived in Mexico, and we were on a deserted beach with the dogs having a picnic and watching the whales breach right in front of us.
- The sound of my 15 year old Yorkie contently snoring next to me.
- Walking my beach in San Diego accompanied both ways, right off shore, by a huge seal-for an entire hour!
- How every time I taste tiramisu it reminds me of the first time I tasted my friend Antionella’s tiramisu at Capo San Giovanni (it’s worth the trip to Cabo!).
Those little things will never be forgotten.
I think if you ask kids what their favorite memories are with the special people in their lives, you may be surprised to find out that it’s not about spending a lot of money, but making a special connection. When my nephews think about me, they don’t think about the gifts I’ve sent them from Hawaii or China, they think about spending time just with me, early in the morning, playing with their dog when I stayed at their house for Christmas.
I remember several years ago on Oprah, seeing a father and his two young children who had recently lost the mother. The mother had left them videos for various times in their lives so they would still feel her presence as they grew up. They had made sure to fit in all the fun vacations and a trip to Disney World, before she got too sick. They wanted to give the kids as many happy memories of their mom as they could.
When Oprah asked the little girl what her favorite memory of her mother was, she expected to hear one of the things they had just discussed. Instead, she told them about a night when her mother was too tired for dinner and the two of them enjoyed a bowl of cereal together in bed. The whole audience was in tears, and I’m getting choked up just thinking about it. I’ve never forgotten that story.
We never know how often the little things we do in life become important and cherished memories for other people. So today I took a some time to have lunch outside and enjoy the sunshine and the chirping birds. It didn’t take much time or a lot of money and it didn’t take any preparation. I got to watch the birds and I saw two rabbits and I had some time to smell the air and watch the clouds go by.
It really is the small things. So do something to brighten your own day today and take a few minutes to surprise someone else while you’re at it.
Until next week, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Comment below.
