Update on Haiti Donations – Please Continue Your Support

January 22, 2010

Thank you to all of you who have already donated to this program and please

continue to foward this information to other who care.

There are many options for donating and tonight is the telethon George Clooney is doing which you can see on several TV networks so your options are increasing.

This is a program that I’m personally involved with. I know the work they do.

They have delivered over 169,000,000 (yes that’s million) meals over the years to starving children and they already have distributed several thousand meals in Haiti since the earthquake.

Each bag of Vita-Meal you donate feeds a child for 30 days, nutritionally balanced food.

Overhead is taken care of, distribution is taken care of, so your donation is bags of food that are going directly to Haiti.

Here’s a direct link to donate http://budurl.com/zuay

You can read Wednesday’s update from Nourish the Children about what’s happening on the ground right now or go to http://NourishTheChildren.com for complete details.

It’s great when you have a distribution channel and food already in place when a tragedy like this happens, as we did in Haiti, so our food is already getting to those who need it.

But the need for food will be ongoing while they rebuild so if you would like to get set up to donate food on a monthly basis, contact me personally and I’ll help you to do that. It’s great appreciated.

Let’s spread the word as widely as possible. This isn’t just a U.S. project.

If you are outside the U.S. or have people you know who would like to donate from other countries and can’t use this system, they can contact me directly and I will help process their donation.

Thank you for caring enough to take action!

Yesterday on Success Blueprint Radio my guest Mike Koenigs mentioned a commencement speech given by Steve Jobs. I watched it and I think you will want to watch it too, so I posted it here on my blog. It’s so great that online video has given us the ability to be there live when events are happening anywhere in the world and also to go back in time and experience a moment we would otherwise have no access to.

Youtube is not just about silly pet tricks! It’s a fabulous educational tool.Speaking of media, I took my camera to Anaheim and didn’t take any pictures. I’m really going to make an effort to take photos so I have something to put in that little spot at the top of the ezine.

For the time being, I’ll take you on a walk down memory lane with some pictures through the years. Just promise if I show you some really old
ones not to laugh at my hair-because you were there in those years looking the same way. :-)

Questions Are the Answer to Everything in Life

January 21, 2010

The results you achieve in every area of your life depend on the quality of the questions you ask. Your goals in life are set by the questions you ask yourself about how you are doing on your path to achieving your goals. The success of your business comes from asking these questions and asking your customers the right questions.

Bullseye!
Image by Gare and Kitty via Flickr

Every day you ask yourself hundreds or even thousands of questions, some big and some small. That’s how you decide what you want to wear, what you want to eat, how effective your business day is going to be and even what the quality of interaction will be wit h your loved ones.

But how do you learn to ask the kind of questions that get you to your desired outcome?

Why do you find it acceptable to ask yourself small questions and expect an answer?

Do you feel funny or like you’re getting into the “woo woo” stuff when you ask yourself big questions and expect an answer?

If you do, get over it! The answer to any question you ask is available to you if you ask yourself the right question. Size and difficulty is a block in your mind.

Every day I write my top 3 goals in my journal after I answer the questions of the day from “Change One Thing, Change Your Life“.  Several years ago I changed the writing of my goals to the form of a question. I immediately noticed a change in how quickly I manifested the goals. A few months later, a friend of mine told me it would work even better if I switched them to “what” questions.

“What can I do to…” starts your brain working on creative solutions for whatever you want to manifest. Doing this in combination with the daily lessons has taken my question asking skills to a level that allowed me to create the life of my dreams and realize my goals on a regular basis. What could implementing this tip do for you?

The question asking process works the same in business as in your personal life. In business you use questions to create rapport. Rapport leads to your clients feeling like you understand them. They like you and trust you and that’s what is needed to get sales.

I’m not talking about asking how many of your product they want to buy or what they need to have it. I’m talking about showing a sincere interest in who your clients is and what their needs and desires are.

Learning the right questions to ask in every step of the process you go through with your clients is the number one sales and communication skill you need to build a successful business and a successful life. Having a successful business is a major component in creating the life of your dreams and your financial independence.

Get your business on the fast track to building financial independence for you and your family with the home study program, “Getting to Yes Without Selling, The YES System.” If you already own this program, get it today and start making more sales tomorrow. The communication and sales skills you learn in this program will change all the relationships you have in your life, personal and professional.

Until next week, I’d love to hear your thoughts.  Just comment on this post on my blog at http://www.LynnPierce.com

Sorry for the issues with the other site. All I can think is that with potentially 750,000 people in 49 countries having the possibility of creating a direct site to simplify the donation process, it might have looked suspicious to Google.

Update on Feeding Children in Haiti

January 20, 2010

If you haven’t donated from the email/post I sent last night, here’s the link  again. http://lynnpierce.millionsofmeals.com/

Haitian child

Here’s a quick update I just received about Nourish the Children:

I am writing to update and thank you for all of the generous support that you have provided in our Haitian relief efforts over the past week. As you are aware, all Nourish the Children donations in January are being directed exclusively to Haiti. There is no doubt that the situation is desperate, but thanks to your generosity we are making a difference.

You will be pleased to know that we actually had 5,000 bags of VitaMeal in Haiti already when the earthquake hit. The building that the meals were stored in sustained significant damage, but thanks to the efforts of our partners at Feed the Children and the local mayor; we were able to retrieve all 5,000 bags for immediate use. We have also redirected 6,000 additional bags that were in route elsewhere that will be arriving in Haiti very soon.

At our meeting in Anaheim last week we received over $10,000 in donations to our Force for Good Foundation–100% of which will be directed to Haiti relief. These funds will be matched by the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation and will be added to the growing value of the Force for Good Foundation earthquake relief, currently in excess of $65,000.

http://lynnpierce.millionsofmeals.com/

I invite you to get involved in the relief effort by making a VitaMeal donation through Nourish the Children. Remember that we will continue to match any contribution made through the end of January.

Thank you again for your tremendous generosity to date. If you have not donated yet I hope you will consider donating to this worthwhile cause. The people of Haiti now need our assistance more than ever.

If you have any questions about the website and how to donate, I took you through it in last night’s email/post. I really hope you’ll consider helping.

Nourish the Children of Haiti Right Now

January 19, 2010

I’ve been traveling without a computer since the earthquake or you would have heard from me sooner.

I don’t know if you’ve already donated to help the people of Haiti, but even if you have, you’ll want to find out about Nourish the Children.

I’ve heard a report that children who had been in orphanages are sleeping outside and if something doesn’t happen quick they will starve. The workers have gone home to take care of their own families. So let’s see what we can do because these meals can move very fast.

I’d like to introduce you to a fabulous program that has been delivering nutritious meals to starving children around the world for many years. In fact, they’ve delivered over 169 million meals. This month we are sending all meals donated for the rest of the month to Haiti.

The distribution channel for the meals is already in place.

Vitameal is specially formulated for malnourished children and families and it’s vegetarian and can be consumed by all cultures and religions. Each bag contains 30 nutritionally balanced meals for one person and costs $22.

I’ve set up a site for Nourish the Children, where you can learn more about Vitameal and make a donation of one or more bags to help in the relief effort.

http://lynnpierce.millionsofmeals.com/

Nourish the Children is an arm of NuSkin, a company I work with. NuSkin partners with the world renown organization Feed the Children, who delivers the Vitameals and has a long track record of success in feeding the world’s neediest children. More information about this is available on the website.

As I said, all donations for the rest of the month of January go to Haiti.

Here’s how you can help:
This is something I would normally talk to someone personally about, so let me lay out the process so you can go to the site and do it yourself. It’s very simple, but since I’m sending it out on my blog, I want to make sure it’s all spelled out.

Go to: http://lynnpierce.millionsofmeals.com/

1. Choose ‘United States’, then ‘donate’.  Don’t contact me through that email or phone # at the top of the page. If you need my help, reply to this email.

2. The default donation is set to 2 bags of Vitameal ($44.00).

3. You can change the number of bags you donate at ‘check out’, so hit add to cart & then checkout.

4. If you want to donate a different number of bags, on the checkout page click ‘remove’ on the 2 bags shown, and then go to the ‘add a product’ box and type in ‘vitameal’ – click on your new number of bags you want to donate on the drop down menu.

***(Make sure to pick one that says ‘DONATE’, not ‘CONSUME’). You can change the quantity if you want to donate more than the 5 bags. Then hit continue.

5. You’ll go through the registration as a ‘customer’. Don’t worry, you’re not signing up for anything. This is a one-time donation. The sponsor is me and that’s there because you have to have a sponsor number to place this order. You’re setting up a user name & password because it’s required to be a customer.

6. Fill in your info and complete your order. You’ll then receive a letter in the mailfor tax-deductible purposes from Feed the Children indicating the number of bags donated and you write in the value.

7. If you would like to donate on a monthly basis, contact me and I will help you set that up. If you donate monthly you can become a Nourish the Children Ambassador.

Note:  Please be assured that donating will not result in you being contacted in the future.  NuSkin Enterprises has sought to be a force for good since its inception 25 years ago and this is central to it’s mission and philanthropic efforts.

Nourish the Children is a program supported by the more than 750,000 distributors worldwide, but you don’t need to be part of the company to donate. NuSkin takes care of all overhead and administrative costs, ensuring that all donations go directly to the Vitameals.

Feel free to forward this to anyone you know who might help.

Thanks so much for caring!

Note from Lynn

How do you like my new format? If you get my ezine, you’ll notice it’s now in HTML. If you read it here, I’ll be using this formatting from now on, so more photos and possibly videos. The only thing I can’t get to work is no matter what color I change the text in the orange sub-heads, it doesn’t show up as the right color. I’ll have to get my web guy to check that out. But I think I did pretty good for posting this myself before my ezine goes out in the morning. Gotta love automation!

Eggs and the basket
Image via Wikipedia

I’ve tested it and it sent to me fine, so if everything goes according to plan, it will have everything in all the right places when you see this too!

I stopped doing an HTML ezine back in 2007 when I switched companies and their text editor kept doing strange formatting things when it sent.

As you read this I’m on my way to Anaheim for a meeting with my other business. I believe everyone needs multiple streams of income and I’m loving the network marketing stream of income I’ve built. Do you have one that’s giving you the kind of residual income you’d like to have?

I have to say that with all the major business and personal growth gurus who have been touting the advantages of network marketing for so many years, I’m surprised when I talk to someone in the information marketing industry who’s mind is still in the dark ages on this revenue stream.

As many of you in Internet marketing and the speaking profession can attest, 2009 proved to many people that having all your eggs in 1 basket is a little short sighted. Yes, there were a few that had their best year ever, and for most, learning  how to diversify their sources of income played a part.

Life happens, be ready for it.

Set your goals high enough that they require you to stretch your comfort zone and you’ll be amazed what you can achieve. Ask yourself, “What’s the one thing I can change this year to create the life of my dreams?”

It’s the Little Things That Make a Difference

January 13, 2010

Have you ever heard that saying before? Today I was reminded how easy it is to be happy when you value the little things in life. It takes more awareness and an attitude of gratitude to recognize the little things. I have to say that as much as I love the big things that I’m able to have in my life, I get as much or more pleasure from the little things.

Encinitas Beach

Long after I forget birthday and anniversary celebrations and long vacations at great resorts, I’ll still remember things like these:

  • When my ex-husband and I lived in Mexico,  and we were on a deserted beach with the dogs having a picnic and watching the whales breach right in front of us.
  • The sound of my 15 year old Yorkie contently snoring next to me.
  • Walking my beach in San Diego accompanied both ways, right off shore, by a huge seal-for an entire hour!
  • How every time I taste tiramisu it reminds me of the first time I tasted my friend Antionella’s tiramisu at Capo San Giovanni (it’s worth the trip to Cabo!).

Those little things will never be forgotten.

I think if you ask kids what their favorite memories are with the special people in their lives, you may be surprised to find out that it’s not about spending a lot of money, but making a special connection. When my nephews think about me, they don’t think about the gifts I’ve sent them from Hawaii or China, they think about spending time just with me, early in the morning, playing with their dog when I stayed at their house for Christmas.

I remember several years ago on Oprah, seeing a father and his two young children who had recently lost the mother. The mother had left them videos for various times in their lives so they would still feel her presence as they grew up. They had made sure to fit in all the fun vacations and a trip to Disney World, before she got too sick. They wanted to give the kids as many happy memories of their mom as they could.

When Oprah asked the little girl what her favorite memory of her mother was, she expected to hear one of the things they had just discussed. Instead, she told them about a night when her mother was too tired for dinner and the two of them enjoyed a bowl of cereal together in bed. The whole audience was in tears, and I’m getting choked up just thinking about it. I’ve never forgotten that story.

We never know how often the little things we do in life become important and cherished memories for other people. So today I took a some time to have lunch outside and enjoy the sunshine and the chirping birds. It didn’t take much time or a lot of money and it didn’t take any preparation. I got to watch the birds and I saw two rabbits and I had some time to smell the air and watch the clouds go by.

It really is the small things. So do something to brighten your own day today and take a few minutes to surprise someone else while you’re at it.

Until next week, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Comment below.

If you would like personal mentoring, send me an email detailing what you would like help with.  As your mentor I hold a bigger vision for you than you hold for yourself.  When you have faith and a team that believes in you, it gives you courage.  When you don’t have to do it all yourself, all things are possible for you.
