What’s New
I’m in Scottsdale and it’s great pool weather. I really do love it here in the summer. I sit outside every morning and watch the quail families teaching their babies to fly up to the top of the wall surrounding the yard, listen to the cooing of the doves and watch the hummingbirds quickly move from flower to flower.

I still surprise the bunnies who aren’t expecting to run into anyone as the make their morning rounds. I so appreciate the elements of nature everywhere I spend time in the world. This morning the sky was so bright blue with puffy white clouds that it seemed too perfect to even be real.

I hope you take the time to really experience what the area you live in has to offer this summer season. Taking 2 minutes to breathe in the summer air and look at the trees, flowers, clouds, whatever your view is, will instantly ground you and reconnect you to Source energy. It’s a great way to re-focus and have a fresh mind for your next task.

We are less than 5 weeks from this year’s Empowered Women’s Business Summit. And as I told you last week, this will be the last year of the summit. So I plan to blow it out and really over deliver and share secrets I’ve never revealed before! And then it goes away forever.

How to Stop Falling Behind and Start Moving Ahead

There is a central theme running through the information being put out by the media and marketers alike. Now after hearing it over and over it’s being repeated as if it’s true and believed by many of the people who these messages are directed at.

The sky is not falling. Although this newly emerging marketplace has many awakening entrepreneurs looking at their lives and the way they do business with a new critical eye, it’s a good thing.

The conclusion many people are reaching as they become a little more introspective is they feel like they are falling behind in at least one area of their life, some in their life in general.

Social media has stepped up the game from the feeling of being behind that came along with the Blackberry. Now you not only are expected to be available 24/7, but you have to interact with thousands several times a day or you are left in the dust! How do you handle the pressure to be everywhere all the time and differentiate what your really want to spend your time on?

The question really is, “How do I continue to grow and change with the new information I’m receiving without feeling overwhelmed?” Maybe a better question would be, “How do I implement what I’m learning when I’m already so busy?”

The first question I ask people in this situation is, “What are you busy doing? In other words, how much of your time is spent in activities that are moving you closer to your desired end result?”

Many times when you get a link to something on Twitter or you listen to a teleseminar or go through a home study course, you are hearing information you have heard before and have forgotten about.

How does it make you feel? More falling behind?

Do you wonder where you would be now if you had taken action last time you heard this information? More pressure to move faster?

Could that be the catalyst for your feeling of overwhelm and the sense you are falling behind?

Don’t beat yourself up. You’re in a place now where you recognize the information is valuable to you and it’s time to implement it. You’ve probably learned a lot since the last time you heard the information and now you are prepared to put it into use. See, you are moving ahead!

Here are 5 tips for moving ahead rather than feeling you are falling behind:

1. Keep a list of how you are spending your time for at least three days and see where there are things that aren’t moving you forward. If they aren’t moving you forward, why are you doing them? Delegate or remove them.

2. Make a written list of what constructive steps you will implement in that newly freed up time.

3. Write out the action steps you need to take to implement them now.

4. Create a time line for their implementation and put it dates for each action step on your calendar.

5. Write down what the benefit will be to your life or your business once you have fully implemented this information. Put this in a place where you see it frequently during the day to remind you why you are doing the things you do. This will keep you from getting off track.

If you don’t know where to start, the first thing I would suggest is that you attend Empowered Women’s Business Summit in Las Vegas. And I’n mot just suggesting it because it’s my event.

Most people report that being in the moment at a live event is not only the way they learn best, it’s the most productive use of their time as far as getting things created and then implemented immediately. And that’s what gets you out of overwhelm and allows you to release the feeling of being behind…because you actually are now moving ahead!

How Will You Know You’ve Arrived?

In all situations you’ve been told that it should be a win/win for everyone involved, and you’ve heard that many times.  But how will you know if it’s a win for you if you aren’t clear on exactly what your goal is in every situation?  In other words if you don’t know your destination, or your desired final outcome, how will you know you’ve arrived?

If you don’t have a vision, followed up with an actual blueprint for your life, how will you know if you’re even going in the right direction, much less arriving? It doesn’t matter if it’s something about your job or your personal life.  You have to have a plan, a blueprint for creating your life.

When was the last time you poured out a whole bunch of little pieces to something and decided you’d just put it together without looking at the directions? Crazy, huh?  Then why would you do that with your life?

Let me give you an example of how this plays out when two different people are given the same opportunity and they both have their own life blueprint.

Nancy is offered a new job with more money and better benefits than what she’s making right now from her small business she’s building.  Now, on the surface you might say, well, that looks like a win.  But is it really?

Nancy needs to look at the big picture of how this new opportunity fits into her life blueprint.  This new job requires her to work more hours, including some weekends.  So is she willing to trade some weekends for more money and benefits which gives her less time with her family?

It just happens that Nancy’s made a commitment in the blueprint for her life and her personal manifesto that:
1) family comes before career
2) after 7:00PM and weekends are reserved for family activities

So her choice becomes clear when those are her most important life goals.  Money is not her primary motivation, and this move won’t advance her in the blueprint she has created for her life.

So if Nancy said yes she would very quickly end up being an unhappy, frustrated employee, so this wouldn’t be a win for her or the company. She’d just have more money for the short period of time she could stand the mis-alingment with her purpose. And she’d be no fun at home either.

Because Nancy knows what it will look like when she “arrives” she isn’t distracted by this short term solution that takes her way, way off track from where she wants to end up in her life blueprint.

She’ll pass on the opportunity knowing that staying in alignment with her goals will continue to move her forward and she’s measuring her progress so she knows exactly how close she’s getting.

Now let’s look at the same offer from Mary’s life blueprint. Mary is single, so her vision looks a lot different than Nancy’s.  She absolutely loves what she’s doing in her work, but she also knows that to create her life, she needs to be open to new opportunities.

When Mary compares this new offer to her blueprint, she sees that it will give her more money to put towards building the art studio she’s designed for her backyard.  That’s a big part of her life blueprint and something that makes her extremely happy and fulfilled.

To make this a reality, Mary is willing to work longer hours and weekends.  One of the benefits of this new job with the hotel chain is that she gets discounted hotels rates, and Mary loves to travel to places that she is inspired to paint.  To Mary this opportunity looks like a win for her and she thinks a win for the company because she will be a good addition to their vision for success.

Mary checks this opportunity against her personal manifesto and her life blueprint and it plugs right in to where she’s going and it looks like a great next step showing up to get her there even faster than she imagined! And it was so unexpected! Everything she needs is showing up!

Do you see what a difference it makes when you have a vision, followed by a step-by-step blueprint?  Do you see where not having this process to go by when making choices could lead you into situations where you have a feeling of emptiness even though it looks good to other people on the surface?

Remember that a great opportunity for one person may be only a good opportunity for you.  We all have different goals we want to achieve.  Having a clear vision, a life blueprint and a personal manifesto will go a long way to keeping you out of situations that other people think are great for you but won’t be personally fulfilling.

I really want to wave a big red flag for you here.

Don’t tell yourself that you’ll do it anyway even if it doesn’t fit your vision.  This will come up at some point.  Someone who means well will be pushing you to do something that doesn’t feel right, but will make you look really good.

Don’t give in!  Stick to your vision, and you’ll find that saying “no” to opportunities that aren’t a perfect fit will get you where you want to go much faster than trying to make do in a situation that is only partially or not at all what you want and it doesn’t fit your life blueprint.

And when you have your goals clearly in front of you and you know the path that you’re going on and you have your personal manifesto, it is so easy for you to then go ahead and look at whether an opportunity is a great opportunity for you or just a good opportunity and feel comfortable in your soul.

Do You Have Reality Based High Self-Esteem?

Catching some of reality TV recently, I have to wonder how some of these people get such an unrealistic high opinion of their talents.  When you consider how many people audition for these shows, many are very talented and others are totally misguided in their opinion of their  ability.

How is this possible?  Do the really awful people who audition for these signing shows or dancing shows sing or dance in front of anyone who is being honest with them?  Do they dismiss those people as not knowing what they’re talking about?

Over and over I’ve heard people say they know they’re good because it’s their passion.  Others say they will continue pursuing their particular lack of talent because they’ve invested so much of themselves in it. What does the amount of time or the money you’ve invested in a process have to do with reality of it being what you are good at? Nothing.

One of my mentors told me I have to say no to the good to say yes to the great. I believe this also applies to figuring out what you are really good at in the first place; what your passion or life purpose is.

It is so important to have a realistic view of your ability to achieve your dreams and goals.  You’ve probably heard you should act “as if” until you have actually mastered an attitude or behavior.  In many cases that is exactly what will get you where you are going.  In other situations acting doesn’t make it so.  It will only work if there is some level of proficiency already recognizable in what you are currently doing. And, this is a big and, you actually are going down the right path for you in the first place.

Wearing blinders and going single-mindedly after the wrong goal is not enough to get you there. Be realistic about what you have a true ability for and let go of what will be a long road of wishful thinking.

Letting go of unrealistic expectations opens you to new possibilities from unexpected sources.  Let yourself be surprised!

So how do you know when you have a reality based high self-esteem and you are limiting yourself by wanting to keep your goals realistic?

Here is an affirmation to keep this principle in mind:
As I observe my life without needing to control how my greatness shows up, I am directed to an abundance of opportunities.

There is an incredible freedom in being able to let go and be open to new opportunities coming from unexpected sources.  Your life becomes a daily adventure.  The more you are aware of this principle, the more opportunities you can say yes to.

Controlling every aspect of your life is hard work and takes a great deal of time and energy that can be put to better use.  Have you ever noticed when you’ve tried as hard as you can to force something to happen, many times it doesn’t?

Then, out of frustration, you give up control. You say to yourself “I’ve done all I can do.  If it’s meant to be, it will be.”  That translates to “I don’t know what else to do.  I give up.”  When you give up your attachment to how something shows up, it usually shows up pretty quickly.  Isn’t that interesting?

Being clear on what you want and at the same time being open to that or something better showing up creates incredible opportunities.  Most likely the dreams you dream for yourself, because you want to remain realistic, are way too small.  The Universe will create a level of abundance you could never imagine if you get out of your own way.

Points to Ponder
What aspects of your life have you been unwilling to stop micro-managing until now?

What’s the worst thing that can happen if you let go of control?

What abundance could you create by trusting the Universe to provide bigger opportunities for you?

Be aware of what you say to yourself 24/7.

Affirmations and written goals are a good way to stay focused.  Do you have written goals?  Do you repeat them out loud at least 4 times a day?  Write your 3 top goals right now.

How a Conscious Sales Process Can Increase Your Bottom Line

The world is awakening. There is a shift in consciousness that’s been happening for the last few years and now it’s coming into the awareness of millions of entrepreneurs around the world.

It’s an amazing time for you to be a light in the world and be of great service to your clients. And as an added bonus, it’s an opportunity for you to realize that the more of your authentic self you share with your clients and others you’re in relationships with, the easier your life gets, the more everything flows and the happier you are.

What I’m really talking about here is being conscious in your business rather than unconscious and contrived.

A big benefit of creating conscious processes within the framework of the system that you understand, that feels comfortable for you; is that you’ll quickly see for yourself how you could double, triple or even quadruple your income in a very short amount of time.

Depending on how many of the responsibilities you personally take on when it comes to communicating your product and services to your clients, you may have several areas of your interactions with clients or team members that frustrate you.

And we’re not even talking about how the level of clear communication in other relationships in your life impact your income. But let me just assure you that you can develop skills that allow you to communicate on a much higher level with your clients. And this will apply to all your other relationships as well. Yes, that includes your family!

So if you believe your dislike for anything that looks like sales isn’t influencing the results the people you’ve put out there to speak on your behalf get in your business, think again!

At the same time, I feel for you. I really do. I was the shyest salesperson, sale manager and sales trainer that I’ve ever met, even to this day. And yet I found a way to create a system for myself that made me a powerhouse in transferring my belief in my product to my client.

I know first hand that talking about your own creation just makes it that much more uncomfortable. So what happens many times is you don’t ask for the sale at all or you underprice what you’re offering.

Both of those situations leave a lot of your money on the table.

I’ve been in your shoes. I know how frustrating it can be when you’re trying to figure out where that fine line is between actively promoting what you have to offer that will benefit your client and pushing too hard.

After all, you started your business so you could make more money doing what you’re good at and what you have a passion for. And yet you find yourself needing some way to put all the pieces together so you can have a simple conversation that leads to yes time after time. And very few people have the natural ability to put it all together on their own. You need a framework to work within.

With what’s going on in the world today I know you may be struggling and trying to figure out what you can do to ramp up the flow of cash in your life. Or you may already be in a place where your business is experiencing tremendous success…

And yet you know that with a little tweaking you could be doing so much more.

It really is a sticking point of extreme discomfort for many people. You are definitely not alone.
